The white city.

Italy’s heel, Puglia has always been on my to-go-list. It is not a popular destination for tourists, but that’s the reason I wanted to go, to explore somewhere people are less familiar with, and away from the crowd. And there indeed, were few non-Italians. It is easy to fall in love with such lovely medieval walled city, so rich in history and influenced by different cultures. The old town was quite small and easy to walk around, it is made up of narrow cobblestone streets and whitewashed houses that lead up to the cathedral. My eyes wandered around slowly to catch every little details, and on our way, we just poked in and out of craft shops and art galleries, wine and olive oil shops.

The B&B we stayed at was the best we could ask for. There were only four rooms for guests on the ground floor, so beautifully decorated, the owner and her cute dog live on the second, which she happily toured us around, was like a museum with amazing art work up on every wall. Their breakfast were equally awesome, nothing sophisticated, but their selection of cereal, home-made cakes, and coffees were some of the best! One morning, we walked further out of the city, in order to get a panoramic view of this enchanting town. I am absolutely impressed by the pearly white architecture, which the morning light has made it appeared as a jewel in the middle of the very dry part of Italy.

Trust me, Ostuni has some of the most tasty food in Italy. And remember to try out their local Italian wine!
